Green Velvet with Animal Print!

What a fabulous combination! I know I have posted about green velvet lounges a couple of times before (they happen to be a favourite), but after looking through images of Miles Redd's work recently, I see that he likes to accessorise with animal print which is another favourite of mine! The following three images are all rooms by Miles Redd with green velvet sofas and animal print cushions.

Love the geometric print side chair as well!

Such an interesting room but the sofa is the icing on the cake!

Fabulous use of studwork on this sofa - love it paired with the red ottoman!

This gorgeous combination has been used by other designers as well:

Room by Palmer Weiss...

And the original, Hubert De Givenchy!
Such a fabulous look is always bound to get replicated...who knows, I may even use it myself one day! Tracey xx

I Choose Lake Como!

If I could choose anywhere in the world to spend the weekend, I would choose Lake Como!
I wouldn't need to stay in the grandest hotel, as long as this was my view...

Surrounded by beautiful mountains...

Something simple but sweet...

Who's joining me? Happy weekend wherever you are spending it!

Magical NZ Property!

Well I have been a little under the weather this weekend which has given me a perfect excuse to check out some of my favourite blogs and real estate sites. I stumbled across the following home on www.realestate.co.nz which is an amazing home in Northcote (a suburb of Auckland). How I would love a property like this!

Outdoor perfection!

Views from every room...

Built-in seating (yes I would have to reupholster)

Pretty country kitchen...

Amazing windows from the main bedroom with amazing views to match!

Love it! Hope you have all had time to relax this weekend! Tracey xx

Tripping around Santa Monica

We spent the last week of our 2 week holiday at Venice Beach and Santa Monica. We stayed here last July also and loved it so much, we came back. It's so beautiful down by the beach even though we live near some of the most beautiful coastline in the world, It's great to visit the famous wide beaches in California. So many movie's have been filmed down here by the Santa Monica Pier. We hired bikes on both occasions and travelled along the bike path towards Malibu beach. There are some amazing Beach houses along the way. We stopped and had lunch at one of the cafes on the beach, I would highly recommend it to anyone, so relaxing!

this was our table, right in the sand!

Looks just like Bay Watch

Girls night in!

The boys are all off to the footy tomorrow night which leaves time for us girls to have a girls night in! Looking forward to catching up and using my new outdoor space (even though it's not perfect yet). I've been too busy working on other peoples houses to complete my own projects but I'm still enjoying what we have achieved here over the last couple of months. Hope you all get time for some R & R and will catch up next week! The above image is from one of my favourite designers - Celerie Kemble. I think it looks like the perfect space for a girly catchup!

Birthday Gifts!

Sorry we have been M.I.A. lately but life's busy and sometimes it's hard to feel inspired to do a post (does this happen to anyone else)! It's my birthday today and I have had a lovely day out with 'the girls'. Thought I would share a few of my gifts with you. The first one, I actually bought for myself - a very cute teatowel which goes perfectly with my new kitchen (yes I am showing you a snippet even though it still isn't finished). The second one is from the gorgeous Amanda (of Oliveaux fame), some fabulous salad servers - yes they also match the kitchen! And thirdly, a stunning vase that Hayle bought me back from the U.S. - love it! I'm one lucky girl! Hope you are all having a great week! Tracey xx
